CBSE school in Coimbatore, SSVMSE proudly celebrated its inaugural Sports Day with great enthusiasm, marking a memorable milestone in our commitment to nurturing young talent and promoting holistic development. We were honoured to welcome Mr. Amalraj Anthony Arputharaj, renowned Indian table tennis player, Arjuna Award recipient, and silver medallist at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, as our Chief Guest. His inspiring presence encouraged our students to embrace the values of discipline, perseverance, determination, and true sportsmanship. The event was a vibrant showcase of athletic excellence, teamwork, and unwavering school spirit.
The celebrations commenced in the esteemed presence of our Managing Director, Correspondent Dr. Manimekalai Mohan, Mr. S. Mohandoss. The ceremonial lighting of the Sports Torch symbolised the spirit of unity, determination, and the pursuit of excellence. This was followed by the Oath of Sportsmanship, led by our School Pupil Leaders, reaffirming their commitment to fairness, integrity, and respect. Adding an international dimension to the event, an exchange student from Thailand shared an inspiring address on the AFS International Student Exchange Programme, highlighting the importance of global learning, cultural exchange, and building meaningful connections across borders.
The day came alive with cultural dance performances that celebrated creativity and teamwork, alongside exciting relay races and fitness challenges that showcased the enthusiasm, strength, and determination of our students. One of the most heartwarming moments was the enthusiastic participation of our parents in a series of fun-filled games, creating an atmosphere of joy, laughter, and togetherness. Their spirited involvement beautifully demonstrated that age is just a number and that the true spirit of sportsmanship lives in every heart. The event concluded on a high note, leaving behind cherished memories and reinforcing the values of unity, resilience, healthy competition, and community spirit.
